Professional game-day coverage can cost hundreds of dollars per game. For most youth sports clubs in our region, that's simply out of budgetary reach. For many young athletes, the best moments of their biggest games go unrecorded - with the most affordable alternative being having those moments captured from the stands on a cell phone.
They deserve something better.

While the images CAPTURES provides to families and organizations is free, there is still overhead that must be covered. Every game day involves travel, equipment, equipment maintenance, hours of editing, software, and related costs. Photographers working through CAPTURES are compensated at a community honorarium rate - a fraction of commercial market rates - because sustainable, professional-quality coverage is the whole point. CAPTURES was incorporated to build the funded infrastructure that keeps this service running. That's what community support makes possible.
Every professional sports organization in the world has dedicated media staff. The kids playing on community fields across Greater Victoria deserve the same.
